Why can’t we?

Why can't we be the birds, on one branch together?

Why can’t we be the birds, on one branch together?

Right after she utters “No”
she kisses me like a moon
kisses the lake in night,
making the stars go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Go”
she holds me like a flower
holding the color sublime
making the bees go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Okay”
she fights me like a river
wrestling with the mountains,
making the foliage go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Haw”
Her silence speaks to me
like a heart whispering to
soul, making lips go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Shush”
she wants to hear me like a
night poem weaving her dreams,
making the lullabies go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Never”
she imprints herself on me like
genes in inevitable bonding,
making the customs go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Huh”
she rains on me like jacaranda tree
leaving no inch uncolored,
making the clouds go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Nothing”
she perches on me like a mist
cuddling the transparency,
making the dust go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Right after she says “Bye”
she desires me to stick to her
like eyes beholding the dreams,
making our realities go slow
into an envy, “why can’t we?”

Why can't we be the clouds mixing into each-other?

Why can’t we be the clouds mixing into each-other?

  1. First thing first, I don’t know how you take these random expression and make a poem out of them! And even if you do how well you mix fantasy in reality? The factor of envy here creates that little bond between two. Well done Poet.

    • 🙂 Thank you Sidra…
First thing first, no expression is random, when you know the story behind it. And when story is so subtle and lovely one can’t help but weave a fantasy around it, making reality to only envy, why can’t it have such liberty… I am too in awe of the bond between two entities so distant, yet so close like meant to be. When two rare entities start to read each other better than anyone else, not caring of words on surface, I believe that’s what originates a symphony.🙂
