Instantly fell in love with this composition, and the strange thing about this one is that every person I shared it with also loved it. It’s not just the lyrics, or the music with the earthy tones and superbly picked Raag Yaman Kalyan by composer Anu Malik or extremely well-chosen Papon‘s voice for his unique texture, but as a whole, the piece is so much more than a sum of talent behind it, it has almost reached a state of magic.

Hey, I just listened to this song today and I am blown away. Wanted to understand the song better, I researched on it’s explanation and then deep meaning but only found literal translation. Then I came across your page and I got relieved that finally someone’s explaining.. but it was only English translation (which I must say was beautiful). About your request for explanation… There are few things in the world like art and poetry – that least explained better they are, perhaps they’re formed for a primary reason so that people can relate to it bringing theirs on context – no art is complete without it.
Still, on your request, I can try and share with you what the poem means in the shortest of words…
This is a serenade of a lover who quite unintentionally has started to drift for the beloved in an inexplicable and inescapable manner. The more the lover slides into a labyrinthian entanglement, the more control one loses of the self.
Yet more one finds self losing control, more one finds self free of pretenses as now ride is governed by someone else.
Make no mistake it’s an infliction unwanted, as it comes with uncertainties and pain, and like everyone, a lover wants to keep the good parts only and not those that hurt the loving. Yet with each move that the lover makes, the lover finds itself further indulged into the web. A sort of prison it’s for the lover, yet nothing has ever felt like home before this. The lover has never felt before so closer to their true self before encountering the beloved’s magic.
Hence amazed is the lover, to notice it as a sign of web not tightening but actually embracing the beloved… The lover finally chooses to give everything away – all his smartness and his desires, in order to be fully embraced by the beloved the way the beloved sees it fit. The lover knows that only by surrendering he will be able to win the love of the beloved, only by losing a desire of destination, he will be able to find the lover’s way.
