Poem and Translation:
Mujhe raat din bas mujhe chaahati ho
To me, day and night, it’s only me you are missing!
Kaho naa kaho mujhako sab kuch pataa hai
haan, karoon kya muje tum bataati nahin ho
chhupaati ho mujhase ye tumhaari khata hai
Aah, mujhe raat din bas mujhe chaahati ho
Whether you admit it or not, I for sure can feel it.
Yet, what shall I do now, as you never confess it?
Keeping it to yourself, my love, I guess is a mistake…
Just me, day and night, it’s only me you are missing!
Meri bekaraari ko had se badhanaa
tumhen khub aata hai baatein bananaa
nigaahen milaa ke yun mera chain lenaa
sata k Mohabbat mein yun dard dena.
muje dekh ke aise palken jhukaana
sharaarat nahin hai to phir or kya hai
Mujhe raat din bas mujhe chaahati ho
To raise my restlessness beyond all limits,
You sure know how to make many excuses…
Staring into my eyes, leaving me unsettled.
Teasing in love, bestowing pain unbridled.
Lowering your gaze, watching me arrive,
If not mischief then what on earth else is it?
Just me, day and night, it’s only me you are missing!
Tumhen neend aegi ab naa mere bin
muje hai yakin aisa aayega ek din
khuli teri zulfon mein soya rahunga
Tere hi khayalon mein khoya rahunga
kabhi gaur se meri aankhon mein dekho
meri jaan tumhaara hi cheharaa chhuppa hai
Mujhe raat din bas mujhe chaahati ho
You won’t be able to sleep now, without me caring…
I am sure the day would come that’ll be happening.
In unbound tresses of yours, I will be resting…
In thoughts of you my beloved, I’ll be wandering…
For once, look closely into the depths of my eyes,
My beloved, it’s only your face that’s hidden.
Just me, day and night, it’s only me you are missing!
Kaho naa kaho mujhako sab kuch pataa hai
haan , karoon kya muje tum bataati nahin ho
chhupaati ho mujhase ye tumhaari khata hai
Haan, mujhe raat din bas mujhe chaahati ho
Whether you admit it or not, I for sure can feel it.
Yet, what shall I do now, as you never confess it?
Keeping it to yourself, my love, I guess is a mistake…
To me, day and night, it’s only me you are missing!
