Oh Amiable… (Aey Humnava…)

Stapled now as a modern-classic, a beautifully written yearning song by an inspiring poet Sayeed Quadri, sung with an extreme finesse by Papon, for the film: Hamari Adhuri Kahani. The film I didn’t like much, but the songs were quite good as the music was composed by Mithoon, and I like this song more since it introduced me to a gift of Papon, an extremely well-textured voice…

Translation:

Oh amiable,
allow me to surrender…
Plains of my heart
have seen drought,
now they seek a drizzle…

I find myself stranded,
hint me a passage…
Plains of my heart
have seen drought,
now they seek a drizzle…

For all these years,
I’ve mere been a wanderer,
from one door to subsequent…
Lend, my galloping heart,
a calming refuge in your castle…
allow, my drifting soul,
a resting place in your haven…

If all’s too much then,
claim me like a possession…
Plains of my heart
have seen drought,
now they seek a drizzle…

Hinged to a wilted
limbs of heart,
why do the flowers bloom??
Discussion of flowers,
convos of fragrance,
why do I find them so good?
All these colors
that you made me encounter,
I came across none before,
even in fables…
For that, my heart
feels eternally grateful…

Shower furthermore,
bask me in your spring…
Irrigate soil of my heart
make it sweet-scented…
Plains of my heart
have seen drought,
now they seek a drizzle…

In that manner, my life had seen,
too many weathers passing…
But never I had come across before,
anything captivating…
It’s only due your arrival
I’ve come to know,
I am too someone
who is living…
For I have started
to embrace now
the blowing wind,
and the passing waves
of breeze smooching…

Quite like them…
step forward
to hold me in your seizure…
Plains of my heart
have seen drought,
now they seek a drizzle…

Original Lyrics:

Aey Humnava,
mujhe apna bana le
Sookhi padi
dil ki iss zameen ko
bhiga de

hmm.. hoon akela,
zara haath badha de
Sookhi padi
dil ki iss zameen ko
bhiga de

Kab se main dar dar phir raha
Musaafir dil ko panaah de
Tu awaargi ko meri aaj thehra de

Ho sake toh
thoda pyaar jataa de
Sookhi padi
dil ki iss zameen ko
bhiga de

Murjhaayi si shaakh pe dil ki
Phool khilte hain kyun…?
Baat gulon ki zikr mehak ka
Acha lagta hai kyun…?
Un rango se tunay milaaya
Jinse kabhi main mill na paaya
Dil karta hai
tera shukriya…
Phir se bahaare tu laa de
Dil ka soona banjar mehka de
Sukhi padi dil ki is zameen ko bhiga de

hmm.. hoon akela, zara haath badha de
Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de

Waise toh mausam guzre hain
Zindagi mein kayi
Par ab naa jaane kyun mujhe wo
Lag rahe hain haseen
Tere aane par jaana maine
Kahin na kahin zinda hoon main
Jeene lagaa hoon main…
ab ye fizaayein
Chehre ko chhooti
hawaayein…

Inki tarah do kadam toh badha le
Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de
O.. hoon akela, zara haath badha de
Sookhi padi dil ki iss zameen ko bhiga de

Once again, heart afflicted, brought me to your doorsteps (Phir Le Aaya Dil)

– Performed by young, extremely talented, and truly an effortless singer Arijit Singh (originally for Hindi film: Barfi! – 2012), with music composed by Pritam.

Translation:

Once again, heart afflicted,
brought me to your doorsteps, what to do?
Tried much, nor worked nor suited,
living in distance, what to do?
For what heart is expressing,
come along to make it out…
complete all…
of what’s yet unsaid…
complete all…
of memories unfinished.

Admit I do, this today,
have no clue, what to do?
For all errors,
confessions a-due, what to do?
For what, is sought by heart,
come along to find it out…
enlighten all…
the hope left undamaged…
enlighten all…
the warmth dim-litted…

Destiny has it written,
dictated all through, what to do?
All meetings frequent,
since bumping into, what to do?
For all – heart’s urging,
come along, attain it out…
fulfill all…
possibilities unimagined…
fulfill all…
those wishes… unattended…

– Dedicated to all who find themselves time and again to a same dream that somehow has remained unfinished.

Phir le aaya dil majboor kya keeje
Raas na aaya rehna door kya keeje
Dil keh raha use maqammal kar bhi aao
Wo jo adhoori si baat baaki hai
Wo jo adhoori si yaad baaki hai
Wo jo adhoori si yaad baaki hai

Karte hain hum aaj qabool kya keeje
Ho gayi thi jo humse bhool kya keeje
Dil keh raha use mayassar kar bhi aao
Wo jo dabi si aas baaki hai
Wo jo dabi si aanch baaki hai
Wo jo dabi si aanch baaki hai
Wo jo dabi si… aanch baaki hai

Kismat ko hai yeh manzoor kya keeje
Milte rahe hum badastoor kya keeje
Dil keh raha hai use musalsal kar bhi aao
Wo jo ruki si raah baaki hai
Wo jo ruki si chaah baaki hai
Wo jo ruki si chaah baaki hai
Wo jo ruki si chaah baaki hai..
