For what on earth to others I bare my heart (Ye kiya sab se bayan dil ki halatein karni)

Translation:

For what on earth, to others one would bare the heart…
Faraz, you failed to discern love as a subtle form of art.

What jam is it even when you are in my proximity,
How hard would be a distance, that’s all I chart…

Be it God, stone, angel or sinner whom we love,
Nothing but life gets devoted for a sweetheart.

Each of us waits in our own manner for her grace,
Few hurl the roses, while few throw the dart.

Weakened by my heart here I rest and look at people,
For merely an inch, go lengths to tear the world apart.

To converse vague and cryptic when face to face,
Then self-convincing and wishing a fresh-start.

How the heck people are so adamant in animosity?
We fail so colossally even in little matters of heart.

Somedays, Faraz, we weep on arrival of new seasons,
Somedays, in a search of good old times, we depart.

یہ کیا کہ سب سے بیاں دل کی حالتیں کرنی
فرازؔ تجھ کو نہ آئیں محبتیں کرنی

یہ قرب کیا ہے کہ تو سامنے ہے اور ہمیں
شمار ابھی سے جدائی کی ساعتیں کرنی

کوئی خدا ہو کہ پتھر جسے بھی ہم چاہیں
تمام عمر اسی کی عبادتیں کرنی

سب اپنے اپنے قرینے سے منتظر اس کے
کسی کو شکر کسی کو شکایتیں کرنی

ہم اپنے دل سے ہی مجبور اور لوگوں کو
ذرا سی بات پہ برپا قیامتیں کرنی

ملیں جب ان سے تو مبہم سی گفتگو کرنا
پھر اپنے آپ سے سو سو وضاحتیں کرنی

یہ لوگ کیسے مگر دشمنی نباہتے ہیں
ہمیں تو راس نہ آئیں محبتیں کرنی

کبھی فرازؔ نئے موسموں میں رو دینا
کبھی تلاش پرانی رفاقتیں کرنی

ye kyaa ke sabase bayaa.N dil kii haalate.n karnii
‘Faraaz’ tujhako na aa_ii.n mohabbate.n karnii

Ye kurb kyaa hai ke tuu saamane thaa aur hame.n
shumaar abhii se judaa_ii ki saa_ate.n karnii

ko_ii Khudaa ho ke patthar jise bhii ham chaahe.n
tamaam umr usii kii ibaadate.n karnii

Sab apne apne kariine se muntazir us-ke
kisii ko shukr kisii ko shikaayate.n karnii

Hum apne dil se hi majbuur aur logon ko
Zara si baat par barpa Qayamatein karni

Mile jab unse to mubaham sii guftaguu karnaa
phir apane aap se sau sau wazaahatein karnii…

Ye log kese magar dushmani nibhatein hein
Humein to raas na aayi Mohabbatein karni.

Kabhi Faraz naye Mausamon mei ro dena
Kabhi talash purani rafaqatein karni…
