Poem:
Aitraf mei tujhmei aisa pighla
k us k baad simat na paya…
Woh kashish hi kuch aisi thi k
mei bikhra bhi aur toot na paya.
Us ne chaun apni gira rakhi thi
much par bari masoomiyat se.
Ik haseen shaam thi, jb sir uska
kandhay se mere uth na paya.
Mei deta raha aawaz musulsul
usay judai k baad talak…
Shayad buhat duur nikal chuka tha
sunn kar bhi palat na paya.
Shayad usay tareeki se utna hi
darr tha jitna k muj se pyaar.
Isi kashmakash mein shayad
uska saya bhi us se lipat na paya.
Meri nazmon mei miltay hein
aaj bhi khad-o-khaal us k.
Kia guzra gar guzra k qissa
adhura ab bhi nimat na paya.
Sohani gham to humein
is baat ka rahega umar bhar…
Ye jism to milay magar mera saya
us k saye se chimat na paya.
— Dedicated to those who perhaps connect with a stranger but just for a night. Stranger that was more familiar perhaps than anyone familiar in sight.
